So another year is almost done and dusted, always a good opportunity to say thanks to all those who have stopped by and made the blogging experience a pleasure. Here’s to 2016.
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 42,000 times in 2015. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 16 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.
Congrats on a successful year.

Congratulations Colin, a very successful year and well deserved! Looking forward to more of the same in 16.

Thank you very much, Mike. And the same to you for ’16.
This year was a bit of a slog at times, especially as real life stuff piled up in the second half.

Fair enough, real life stuff has to take priority; sometimes things happen that make blogging feel a little less relevant. But it’s still there, the love for the films you write about always shines through, and I’m definitely a fan. Keep up the good work (when you able to)!

Well I get exactly the same feeling reading your stuff, buddy – always a treat and always informative.
I still get a buzz out of it but can be pressed for time on occasion – I have no intention of giving it up of course, just being realistic about how much time I’m able to devote to it.

Ah, and I also meant to say a special thank you for all the great comments you left – you were in my top five commenters over the last 12 months!

Thanks very much! I would have commented more but for the sheer number of times that I hadn’t seen the film you were discussing. Quite embarrassing in a way, but also it gave me information on some great titles to hunt down and I’m better educated for it. I guess that’s as big a compliment as I can pay really.

Nothing to be embarrassed about at all – I do choose some fairly obscure stuff at times so if I gave you a few pointers that you enjoyed, I’m more than pleased.

The end of another great year on your blog. Congratulations on the stats, and I look forward to 2016 at Ride The High Country.
Don’t know if I’ll publish my stats!

Cheers for that. I like these little end of year round-ups WP offers showing a snapshot of the last 12 months. I think you’re more of a numbers guy than I am and tend to do your own analysis, right?
Anyway, wishing you a great 2016 too.

Yeah, I love me some statistics, so I like these WordPress summaries also. It’s quite nice to get an overview of how your blog’s ‘been’ across the year.
Indeed, I’ll be celebrating the new year by getting stuck into compiling my own stats just as soon as 2015’s officially over!

Even if I’ve only a passing interest in all things number related myself, I’ll be popping in to have a look at how you’ve done when the time comes. 🙂

Thanks for keeping it entertaining and informative. Also for giving me ideas on what to watch when I get lost in my own library of titles. Happy new Year.

Mike, you’re another who has been a regular visitor and commenter here, and I greatly appreciate your input at all times. I see you’ve put up a summary of your own year online and I’ll be visiting there shortly. All the best for 2016. 🙂
